Caroline is a professional landscape artist and author of the fantasy novel The Jewel of Arcturus
Caroline Deighton was born in Crewe, Cheshire in 1977, the youngest of two girls, and raised in the stunning Cheshire countryside. Here she spent most of her time playing in the open fields with her sister. Caroline found school hard and struggled, later to be found to be dyslexic which unfortunately was not easily recognised back then in Cheshire schools. At school, a talent for art started to shine through. After school she went to art college, but at that stage in life her passion was horses. So, she became a professional horse rider and trained to become an instructor. Being fortunate to have a talented horse, Storm, who she competed regularly in Horse Trials and Dressage with a lot of success. After eighteen years with horses and the death of her beloved Storm, Caroline decided it was time for a change. The police were her next calling, or so she thought. She was recruited into Staffs police as a Special constable with the intention of joining as a regular officer upon recruitment opening. During that time, she started painting and was approached by an art publisher. Soon any idea of joining the police full time was thrown out of the window and she was taken on by the publisher for a number of years. Now Caroline is a very popular, full-time independent artist and she has never looked back. The style that Caroline is known for today, originates from memories of travels around the UK. Her work is predominantly images of sunsets over rolling hills and snow-capped mountains, which comes from being a keen walker and hiker along with her black Labrador Fletcher, whom also appears in many of her paintings. The fun side of her work comes from her having a positive outlook on life, always seeing the bright side of any situation. The couple that appear in every painting is a reminder of how romance could be if we all lived in a colourful, fluffy world.
Caroline's original art work can be found in galleries accross the UK. See links page for more info.
